Hershey Tour - June 19, 2012
Our group of 25 started the day with the Hershey Trolley Works tour.
In the Chocolate Lab of The Hershey Story Museum, we prepped for making our own versions of smores.
We were SO stylish in our hairnets and aprons.
John Bender, class of 60, was our personal guide through the museum.

The Alumni Association purchased a display case. It sits in the aud/gym lobby, next to the Class of 2006 ram.

ESPN play-by-play NASCAR announcer, Marty Reid, aka Marty Klingeman 71, had dinner with AJ Dewey 04 and retired CD teacher Ken Peiffer at the Hoachlander residence Aug. 4, 2010
Martys dinner at the Hoachlander home was like a mini-CDHSAA meeting. All 10 people present are Lifetime Members.!

Believe it or not, we had people come in from Colorado for Homecoming! Rich Irish 76 (red stripped shirt) and wife, Angela had a great time at Gilligans after the game.

The new school is located at 437 Piketown Rd - corner of Piketown & Rt. 39 (Linglestown Rd.)
This 50th Anniversary commerative banner was donated by Groundwater Services through the Alumni Assoc. and hangs in the Auditorium/Gymnasium lobby of the new school.

Our display case in the CDHS aud/gym lobby. The Alumnus of the Year perpetual plaque is on the top shelf, along with the School Spirit Scholarship plaque.

Time Capsule Opening
Mike Zorek,74 grad & Masonry Instructor at DCTech, begins the work.
It was a hot day, and a tough job! Mike had lots of encouragement from the 50th Anniv. Committee though.
A little help from Bruce Wevodau, 69, to speed things along.
At last, the capsule is located!
Mike & Bruce now had to figure out how to get inside the sealed copper container.
Power tools are wonderful!
Jan Gardner Suszko,69, Robin Mueser-Robertson,76, & Debbie Groff Hoachlander,72, unveil the hidden treasurers.
Items which were placed inside the Time Capsule in March 1955, documenting the creation of the Central Dauphin Joint Schools and Central Dauphin High School.
The 1954 Student Planning Committee had members from the former township high schools that merged into CDHS.
The Alumni Assoc. has recently purchased a new cornerstone to replace the original. The contents will be reinterred on the new high school campus.
The new cornerstone was installed by Bruce Wevodau 69, and it looks great!
